Elie Antoniadis is an independent photographer based in the French Alps. His practice focuses on long-term photographic projects developed through fieldwork, repeated encounters, and direct engagement with the people and places he photographs.

His work has taken him to Afghanistan, Tajikistan, China, North Africa, and the Amazon. These experiences have shaped a practice concerned with human presence, cultural continuity, identity, and the relationship between people and their environment.

He is currently developing Civilization, a long-term photographic project exploring how cultures rooted in history continue to exist, transform, and find their place within changing societies. His current fieldwork focuses on Miao communities in Guizhou Province, China, where he returns regularly to the same territories and continues to build long-term relationships with local communities and families.

His approach is grounded in observation, proximity, and time, allowing each encounter and territory to contribute to a broader body of work.
